മാഞ്ചസ്റ്റര്‍: ഓള്‍ഡ് ട്രാഫോഡില്‍ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ കണ്ണുനീര്‍. രവീന്ദ്ര ജഡേജയുടെ പോരാട്ടത്തിനും ഇന്ത്യയെ കരകയറ്റാനായില്ല. ഇന്ത്യയുടെ പരാജയം 18 റണ്‍സിന്. ഇതോടെ തുടര്‍ച്ചയായ രണ്ടാം വട്ടവും ന്യൂസിലന്‍ഡ് ലോകകപ്പ് ഫൈനലിലെത്തി.
മുന്‍നിര ബാറ്റ്‌സ്മാന്മാര്‍ തകര്‍ന്നടിഞ്ഞ മത്സരത്തില്‍ മധ്യനിരയാണ് ഇന്ത്യയ്ക്കായി പൊരുതിയത്. ഓപ്പണര്‍മാരായ രോഹിത് ശര്‍മ്മ, കെഎല്‍ രാഹുല്‍, നായകന്‍ വിരാട് കോഹ് ലി എന്നിവര്‍ ഒരു റണ്‍ മാത്രമെടുത്ത് മടങ്ങിയപ്പോള്‍ യുവതാരങ്ങളായ ഋഷഭ് പന്തും ഹാര്‍ദിക് പാണ്ഡ്യയും പിടിച്ചു നിന്നു. 32 റണ്‍സുമായാണ് രണ്ട് പേരും പുറത്താകുന്നത്. എന്നാല്‍ പിന്നീട് ചേര്‍ന്ന ധോണി-ജഡേജ കൂട്ടുകെട്ട് ഇന്ത്യയുടെ പ്രതീക്ഷകളെ ഉയിര്‍ത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റു.
പതിയെ തുടങ്ങി ആഞ്ഞ് വീശുന്ന കൊടുങ്കാറ്റായിരുന്നു ജഡേജ. 59 പന്തുകളില്‍ നിന്നും നാല് സിക്‌സും നാല് ഫോറുമടക്കം 77 റണ്‍സാണ് ജഡേജ അടിച്ചെടുത്തത്. ഒരു വശത്ത് ധോണി സിംഗിളുകളിലൂടെ സ്‌ട്രൈക്ക് മാറിയപ്പോള്‍ ജഡജേ തകര്‍ത്തടിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ഇരുവരും ക്രീസിലുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ ജയിക്കാന്‍ ആകുമെന്ന് ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ആരാധകര്‍ ഉറച്ച് വിശ്വസിച്ചിരുന്നു.
എന്നാല്‍ സ്‌കോര്‍ 208 ലെത്തി നില്‍ക്കെ ട്രെന്റ് ബോള്‍ട്ടിന്റെ പന്തില്‍ ന്യൂസിലന്‍ഡ് നായകന്‍ കെയ്ന്‍ വില്യംസണിന്റെ ക്യാച്ചില്‍ ജഡേജ പുറത്തായതോടെ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ പ്രതീക്ഷകള്‍ അസ്തമിച്ചു. തൊട്ടു പിന്നാലെ തന്നെ ഗപ്റ്റിലിന്റെ എണ്ണം പറഞ്ഞൊരു ത്രോയില്‍ ധോണിയും പുറത്തായതോടെ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ലോകകപ്പ് മോഹം അവസാനിച്ചു.
ലോകകപ്പിലെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ മത്സരം മാത്രമാണ് ജഡേജ ഇന്ന് കളിച്ചത്. ബാറ്റുകൊണ്ട് മാത്രമല്ല പന്തുകൊണ്ടും അതുപോലെ തന്നെ ഫീല്‍ഡിലെ പ്രകടനം കൊണ്ടും ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ഏറ്റവു നിര്‍ണായകമായ താരമായിരുന്നു ജഡേജ. ഈ ലോകകകപ്പില്‍ ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതല്‍ റണ്‍സ് സേവ് ചെയ്ത ഫീല്‍ഡറും ജഡേജയാണ്. വന്‍ പരാജയം മുന്നില്‍ കണ്ടിടത്തു നിന്നും ഇന്ത്യയെ കൈപിടിച്ചുയര്‍ത്തിയ ജഡേജയുടെ പ്രകടനത്തെ അഭിനന്ദിക്കുകയാണ് ക്രിക്കറ്റ് ലോകം ഇപ്പോള്‍.
