പഞ്ചാബില്‍ ദസറ ആഘോഷത്തിനിടെ ട്രെയിന്‍ അപകടം; 50 മരണം

പഞ്ചാബ്: അമൃത്‌സറില്‍ ദസറ ആഘോഷത്തിനിടയിലേക്ക് ട്രെയിനിടിച്ച് കയറി വന്‍ ദുരന്തം. അപകടത്തില്‍ 50 പേര്‍ മരിച്ചതായാണ് പ്രാഥമിക റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്. അമൃത്സറിലെ ധോബി ഖട്ടില്‍ വൈകിട്ട് 6.30ഓടെയാണ് അപകടമുണ്ടായത്. മരണസംഖ്യ ഉയരുമെന്നാണ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടുകള്‍.

ദസറ ആഘോഷത്തോട് അനുബന്ധിച്ച് രാവണ രൂപം റെയില്‍ ട്രാക്കിന് സമീപം കത്തിക്കുന്നതിനിടെ ജനകൂട്ടത്തിനിടയിലേക്ക് ട്രെയിന്‍ ഇടിച്ചു കയറുകയായിരുന്നു.ട്രാക്കിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നവരാണ് അപകടത്തില്‍പ്പെട്ടതെന്നാണ് പ്രാഥമിക വിവരം.

പടക്കം പൊട്ടിച്ച് ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നതിനിടെ ട്രെയിന്‍ വരുന്ന ശബ്ദം കേട്ടില്ലെന്നാണ് സംഭവ സ്ഥലത്തുണ്ടായിരുന്നവര്‍ പറയുന്നത്. എഴുനൂറോളം പേരാണ് സംഭവ സ്ഥലത്തുണ്ടായിരുന്നത്. നൂറിലേറെ പേര്‍ക്ക് പരിക്കേറ്റിട്ടുണ്ട്.

Initial reports suggest Dussera revelers were watching the burning of a Ravan close to the track. Crowd had spilled on to the rail line when the local train came and crushed a number of them in Amritsar. Railways to issue a statement soon. @IndianExpress
