Cleaning and tending to the garden for these last few days. This lockdown time has made me realise and remember that having help in any form is one of those few things we should always appreciate. Children always imitate whatever they see their parents doing. Seeing us workout and practice yoga, Viaan started taking an interest in his health and fitness early on. Kids have a lot of energy and it’s important for that enormous energy to be channelised well. He loves gymnastics, so I enrolled him.. But gymnastics without practice can make you rusty. So, we keep practising… keeps him occupied, active, and strong! We’re living in some extreme situations right now. On the one hand, there’s so much to do around the house while many are also working-from-home; on the other hand, the excess free time keeps us seated for long hours with very little movement – a massive state of confusion for the body. All of this, however, can lead to a stiff and painful back & muscles. It’s important to keep stretching and strengthening the back to avoid any long-term, severe pain. So, I practice this routine regularly and it works wonders for me. It strengthens the back & abdominal muscles, improves flexibility in the spine & enhances the body posture. It also relieves back pain & relaxes the back muscles, while opening up the lungs. Give your body a little activity so it doesn’t go into a state of shock in these testing times. I take a few minutes off of my day, to just sit here and meditate so I can connect with nature and take in the beauty of our Mother Earth. It costs nothing, but the price we pay when we misuse it is way too high. The ability to breathe fresh air, eat clean, or have drinkable water is often taken for granted. It’s no wonder that while we are all indoors, the earth is healing So, on the 50th Earth Day today; let’s pledge to conserve our resources, plant more trees, educate ourselves & those around us, choose a sustainable way of life, and adopt the mantra of ‘reduce-reuse-recycle’ as best as we can. I had shared a little exercise-fun with Viaan a few days ago, and I was asked for the entire workout video. Well, I don’t have the entire workout captured, but sharing what I found from my archives. I truly believe that the family that eats, prays and works out together… stays together! Oftentimes when @rajkundra9 and I workout in the mornings, we get Viaan to join us too. We do understand that if it’s not fun for him, he’s not going to enjoy the process. So, while we roped in some abs workout for ourselves, we got him to hop, slide, and jump around. Our workout helps us build & strengthen the abdominal muscles, while it also helps improve the mind-body coordination and enhances speed & endurance capacity. Viaan, on the other hand, was just happy to be jumping around and using up some of that pent up energy. A morning well-spent, this was! My 68-year-old Mom-in-law working out and I sneaked up on her… this is sooo inspiring. She’s highly diabetic but just the fact that she takes the time out to walk (even if it’s around the house) or do yoga/stretch or breathe… she makes that effort. I respect the discipline she maintains, only shows that she ‘values’ her health. This video is so inspiring, it is proof that it’s never too late to start. ശിൽപ്പയ്ക്കും രാജിനും അടുത്തിടെ ഒരു കുഞ്ഞ് കൂടി പിറന്നിരുന്നു. ‘ദൈവത്തെ പോലെ ഒരാളെ ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു’ എന്നാണ് സമിഷ എന്ന വാക്കിന്റെ അർത്ഥമെന്ന് മുൻപൊരിക്കൽ ശിൽപ്പ വ്യക്തമാക്കിയിരുന്നു. സ എന്ന സംസ്കൃത വാക്കും മിഷ എന്ന റഷ്യൻ വാക്കും ചേർത്തുവെച്ചാണ് ശിൽപ്പയും രാജും മകൾക്കുള്ള പേരു കണ്ടെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. 2009 ലാണ് ശിൽപ്പയും പ്രമുഖ വ്യവസായിയായ രാജ് കുന്ദ്രയും തമ്മിലുള്ള വിവാഹം നടന്നത്. രണ്ടു കുട്ടികളാണ് ഈ ദമ്പതികൾക്ക് ഉള്ളത്, 2012 ലാണ് മൂത്തമകൻ വിയാൻ ജനിച്ചത്.

യോഗയിലൂടെയും വ്യായാമങ്ങളിലൂടെയും തന്റെ ശരീരസൗന്ദര്യവും ഫിറ്റ്‌നെസ്സും കാത്തുസൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിൽ ഏറെ ശ്രദ്ധ ചെലുത്തുന്ന താരമാണ് ശിൽപ ഷെട്ടി. പ്രായം 44ൽ എത്തി നിൽക്കുമ്പോഴും ശിൽപ്പയുടെ ഫിറ്റ്‌നെസ്സ് ആരെയും അസൂയപ്പെടുത്തും.
